LowFlight G.E.M Cicada 222A

Class B IMO Marine craft

A response for all terrain

Further. Faster. Safer.

G.E.M (Ground Effect Machines) are able to move over surfaces by gaining support from the increased lift and the reduced aerodynamic drag that wings generate when close to surfaces.

Innovative engineering inspired by nature

What is ground effect?

The Ground Effect exerts a positive influence on the lifting characteristics of a wing when it is close to the ground. This effect is a consequence of increased pressure acting below the wing and reduced drag which is due to the proximity of the ground.

Unique Advantages of LowFlight G.E.Ms

Low Flight G.E.Ms are the only craft designed to meet the US Coastguard’s operational requirements.

These unique capabilities create opportunities for the G.E.Ms to service offshore industries, now only possible by helicopter operations, at a fraction of the economic and environmental cost.

(US Coast Guard document # 87 FR 47437 08/03/2022 “Use of wing-in-ground craft in logistical support of offshore platform operations”, states characteristics which should be considered practical pre-requisites for craft operation.)

1

Providing transportation in areas in which energy exploration, development, or production activity takes place on the Outer Continental Shelf.

2

Safely reaching helidecks or platforms located on offshore energy facilities under the craft’s own power.
