Rotek Design Objectives
- That a small-scale G.E.M. (Ground Effect Machine) craft (< 12m in length) can reliably carry a commercially viable amount of payload (palletised and un-palletised loads) and operate from existing established, and unprepared sites, such as between coastal and river –based businesses and communities.
- That a hybrid multi fuel craft can produce a combination of short duration high-power output and long duration low- power output characteristics, that is economically viable and exhibits high reliability and low-cost maintenance.
- The craft can provide fuel efficiencies of up to 50% less than conventional aircraft carrying similar payloads, and that the use of sustainable fuels can produce no negative effects on craft reliability.
- The use of recycled/reconditioned components provides an environmentally advantageous outcome for the craft’s overall consumption of resources.
- The craft is an important adjunct to national and international defence and disaster relief agencies.
